In a city in the United States, what started as a peaceful walk to support people in Israel turned scary when a man suddenly began throwing firebombs at the crowd. He shouted “Free Palestine” while doing it. Eight people were injured, including an 88-year-old man who lived through World War II.
The walk was organized by a group that wants to bring attention to hostages still being held in Gaza. They have held walks every week without any problems—until now.
The man who attacked the group used homemade firebombs, which are dangerous items that can catch fire when thrown. He also had something that acted like a small flamethrower. Police quickly arrived and arrested him. They say he was acting alone, and he is now in custody.
All eight people who were injured were taken to the hospital. The people injured were between the ages of 52 and 88. One of them is in serious condition. A local religious leader said that the elderly man who was injured is a kind and loving person.

Leaders from around the world spoke out about the attack. The Prime Minister of Israel said that the victims were targeted just because they were Jewish, and he called for strong punishment for the person responsible.
The attack happened during a time when there are many strong feelings about the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Some people in the U.S. have been protesting about the war, and some of those protests have led to disagreements and anger.
The police and the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations) are now investigating to learn more about why this happened.
The group that organized the walk said they were very sad about what happened but will not stop raising their voices for peace and justice. They want future events to be safe and peaceful again.
This event reminds us all how important it is to share our opinions peacefully and to show respect and care for others, even when we disagree
