Arsenal has confirmed that its long-running partnership with East Africa nation will officially end when the 2025–26 season comes to an end.

The deal, which started back in 2018, placed the “Visit Rwanda” message on the club’s shirt sleeves and brought Rwanda’s name to millions of Premier League viewers every week.

According to Arsenal, the sponsorship actually reached and even passed its original goals. The club said the partnership helped promote Rwanda’s tourism industry, supported wildlife conservation, and boosted the country’s sports programs. The current agreement is worth more than $13.3 million per year, making it one of the biggest sleeve sponsorships in football.

However, the deal didn’t come without problems. In recent years, the partnership faced growing criticism because of rising violence in eastern DR Congo. Rwanda has been accused of supporting the M23 rebel group, which has made the conflict worse. Earlier this year, DR Congo called on Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, which are also sponsored by Visit Rwanda, to end what they described as “blood-stained” deals due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis..

With the agreement coming to an end, Arsenal and Visit Rwanda will soon end one of the Premier League’s most talked-about global partnerships.
