U.S. President Donald Trump has said he wants to help white South Africans move to America. He claims they are in danger and should be taken in as refugees. This plan is called “Mission South Africa.”

But many South Africans — both black and white — are not happy about this.

Julius Malema, a popular political leader in South Africa, says Trump is wrong. He says white people in South Africa are not being attacked because of their race. In fact, many are still among the richest in the country.

President Cyril Ramaphosa also disagrees with Trump. He says there is no plan or policy in South Africa to harm white people. Like other countries, South Africa has crime, but it affects everyone — not just one group.

Even some white South African groups have refused Trump’s offer. They say they are not in danger and want to stay in South Africa, their home.

Many people in Africa and around the world say Trump is using this story to get attention or win support in U.S. politics.
