A group of thieves reportedly carried out an unusual chicken theft on a major road in Egypt.
The incident happened on the Cairo Ismailia Desert Road, where a group of six people allegedly followed a moving refrigerated truck in a teal pickup.
According to reports, the group drove alongside the truck and opened its rear doors while both vehicles were still moving. They then took boxes of frozen chicken from the truck.
The driver reportedly did not notice what was happening at the time. The nighttime conditions, along with the noise from the refrigerated truck, may have made it difficult to notice the activity. The pickup also stayed in the truck’s blind spot.
The group reportedly managed to take about 105 kilograms of frozen chicken before leaving the area. Police later identified and located the suspects. Three were arrested, while three others died during a confrontation with police, according to reports.
Authorities also recovered the pickup truck, firearms and some of the stolen chicken.The unusual case has attracted attention because of the way the thieves reportedly carried out the theft while the truck was still moving.
