The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is getting really exciting! The semi-final teams are now set: Egypt, Nigeria, Morocco, and Senegal. These four countries won their quarter-final games and are ready to fight for a spot in the final.
Egypt beat the defending champions Côte d’Ivoire 3–2 in a thrilling match. It was a close game, but the Pharaohs stayed calm and scored the goals they needed. Nigeria also won their quarter-final, defeating Algeria 2–0. Victor Osimhen scored the first goal, and Akor Adams added another to make sure Nigeria advanced.
Senegal beat Mali 1–0, with Iliman Ndiaye scoring the only goal. Morocco, the host country, won 2–0 against Cameroon, thanks to goals from Brahim Diaz and Ismaël Saibari.
The semi-finals will be played on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, and the match-ups are:
- Senegal vs Egypt – a thrilling clash between two African giants
- Morocco vs Nigeria – an exciting clash under the Moroccan lights
Fans can expect some amazing football as these teams compete for a spot in the final. The AFCON 2025 final will be on 18 January 2026 in Rabat, and Morocco will be hoping to lift the trophy in front of their home
